Hey I’m back with my 491st post. When I hit 500 maybe we’ll have some sort of “Festivas 500” party or something. For now I want to share so jammy jams.

This first track is typical King Jammy-produced early dancehall track from Pad Anthony, a stellar dj who didn’t put out much work compared to his contemporaries. This 1985 cut is on the Heavenless/Think Me Did Done Riddim:

MP3: Pad Anthony- Ah Murder
(sorry no preview with this AAC version)

Elephant Man usually crams too many lyrics into too-small a space but he kills it on the new Blaze Fia riddim. Actually all of the artists on this riddim are supurb, esp. Tarrus Riley:

MP3: Elephant Man- Turn Me On

The instrumental side of this rework is killer. Kind of an uptempo dancehall/soca vibe, but no idea who it is. From LA’s DJ Hoff:

MP3: Travis Porter- Make It Rain (Hoff Blend)

Philly Beatmaker Lushlife has a new mixtape which is filled with good samples, including the Beach Boys (!):

Even better samples from Bodega Brovas new EP, including Led Zep, Lykke Li, and The Guess Who!:
