On the way to Lemon Hill Sunday I found a stacka records on the sidewalk. I dug through it and pulled out the soul funk and hip hop and left the jazz there for the next lucky dude. Nothing really worth a lot, but some nice stuff anyway.

Here are some of the artists: Marv Johnson, The Falcons, B.T. Express, The Crusaders, Rufus, Millie Jackson, Thelma Houston, Jay & the Techniques, Mantronix, Kurtis Blow, Howard Tate, Nancy Wilson, Shirley Scott, Labelle, Isaac Hayes, and Melba Moore.

…and a sampling:

MP3: Howard Tate- She’s a Burglar (1972)

Kurtis goes Go-Go. 1983:

…and some Northern Soul, from Allentown, PA of all places:

MP3: Jay & The Techniques- Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie
