Philly bands @ SXSW

theteeth.jpg
SXSW wrapped up this weekend so this is a wee bit late, but I just want to list all the Philly bands that appeared at SXSW. I was in Austin a month ago so missed all the fun, but got to read all about philly representing Austin on the internets and even the newspaper.

There was a “move to Philly” party with a handful of local acts and cheesteaks. See uwishunu for a mix of some of the bands represented.

Here’s the short but sweet list:

An Albatross
Asteroid #4
The Capitol Years
Clockcleaner
Genghis Tron
Oddisee
Pattern is Movement
Relay
Rjd2
Shot x Shot
Stinking Lizaveta
The Teeth (above. new song here)
V.I.P.
Eastern Conference Champions (Bucks County)
Illinois (Bucks County)
Langhorne Slim (Langhorne)

Scanning through the entire list in the Austin Chronicle, it looks like the city represented most was Brooklyn, then Austin itself.

On a different note, If I would’ve made the trip I would’ve done anything (and I mean anything) to see Amy Winehouse, and Dan Deluca wrote that just about everyone felt the same. Interestingly, even though they didn’t share a show, He (and others) wrote that Amy shared some band members (or just dancers) with the amazing Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings.

Check out shamelesscomplacency to download some of Amy’s tracks
